Our Happy Place

A brilliant place to visit all year round. Winter brings wild and spectacular sea along with a chance of seeing the Northern Lights.  The roaring log burner provides a cosy spot to enjoy a wee dram.

The area has a mild microclimate making it sunnier and drier than any other area in Scotland. The hot outdoor shower is perfect to wash away the salt after a swim, or the sand off little paws.

It really is our Happy Place.

“The cosy lounge was perfect to ralax after a day of dolphin spotting!”

YES. Your beloved pets are most welcome to enjoy a holiday at The Corner House too. All pets are considered, but most guests bring their dogs. We usually accommodate 2 dogs per stay but we may allow more, by prior arrangement. We have a safe enclosed courtyard featuring a warm outside shower, frost conditions dependent. We also have a shower in the boot room, perfect for muddy and sandy paws.

Pets are not allowed upstairs or on any of the furniture. We do have a downstairs bedroom that they may sleep in, so they don’t get upset being left downstairs. Please do not leave pets unattended in the house. Should you need to go somewhere without your furry friends, we can share contacts for lovely local dog sitters and walkers.

We have a range of bowls and provide “pet” towels and blankets. You will need to bring a pet bed and a crate if required. The cost for bringing your pet is £20 per stay, per pet.

There is no facility for charging Electric Vehicles at The Corner House, however there are EV Chargers available at the Harbour, just 2 minutes away. These are very convenient and are never usually busy.

There is also a charger close by in Burghead:
45 Sigurd St, Burghead, Elgin IV30 5GE
Various EV charging points are available in the area and can be found on line or by using an app such as ZapMap

Kindly note: EV charging is not permitted at the house for insurance purposes. If vehicles are charged from the house there is a minimum penalty of £250.

We understand that travel plans can sometimes be unpredictable. For your convenience we have self Check In via a lock box. The Corner House is a large property and takes a lot of time to prepare for your stay. Our check in is anytime after 4pm. To enable us to maintain the same high standards for our next guests, we kindly ask you to check out by 10 am.

Due to the size of the property and the time it takes to prepare it, we sadly cannot offer early check in or late check out. Our digital guide book has some great suggestions if you arrive early. You will receive this prior to your stay.

The Corner House accepts bookings with a Monday or a Friday arrival throughout the year.

The ground floor of Corner House is all on one level. It has a downstairs king size bedroom with an ensuite shower. A large downstairs toilet and a separate shower in the boot room. Although the house isn’t strictly wheelchair accessible, we do have a family member who relies on a wheelchair, and they are able to manoeuvre around the house easily.

Although the ground floor is on one level, please be aware there is a single step into the house and the courtyard is laid to pebble.

Note for Fire Safety: For those with limited mobility it should be noted that the ground floor bedroom is classed as an inner room. Therefore, in the event of a fire, if the escape route through the pool room and out through the hallway is blocked, the escape route is through a low window. See house layout.
