The Corner House offers an ideal getaway for anyone. Fantastic for socialising, yet spacious enough to escape the crowd and relax. The Corner House is the perfect place for all ages to enjoy a wonderful holiday together. Don’t take our word for it. Here are some of our reviews.
Fab place to stay. It was decorated beautifully for us to celebrate Christmas. Huge thank you for the excellent communication.
The Corner House has the wow factor as soon as you enter the property, it is beautifully decorated with comfortable sofas to lounge on and beds to sleep in. However, you then start appreciating the attention to detail everywhere, from having plenty of kitchen equipment to accommodate a group of ten, to the books ageing from 0 to 100, there was something for everyone. Having the pool room and the array of board games to entertain us meant that we had a very relaxed stay at this property. Hopeman has its own charm, and to stay just a short walk from the harbour and beaches was truly magical.
The traditional granite house was immaculately renovated inside to a high standard. As we were a family gathering of 9, the very spacious kitchen dining room, stood out with underfloor heating. The separate lounge was cozy and our 3 grandsons loved the pool table. With 4 bathrooms, there was no queues for morning showers. Hopeman beach was 1 minute away and the Moray trail was great for walking, with other areas easy to visit by car. A memorable trip for my 70th birthday
What a find this house was! Absolutely spotless on our arrival Everything here that you could need, fully equipped kitchen with lots of pans and utensils Delightfully comfortable beds Fabulous bathrooms with powerful showers Superb information book in the house Hopeman is a lovely seaside village with fabulous beaches, walks and scenery and some great local businesses Simply by a stroke of luck we stayed the week of the annual Hopeman Gala, so lots of activities and entertainment happening all week including some great live music around the harbour.........a great bonus to our holiday! We were a party of 9 people and 2 dogs and we've all had a fantastic holiday Looking forward to a return visit!
What excellent accommodation. Beautifully furnished, very comfortable and homely. We all loved the huge dining kitchen. The beds were super comfortable and the equipment and facilities were all you need/desire. Checking was very easy and the place was spotlessly clean. There was handy information available, but since we knew the area very well we didn't need it. I would highly recommend this accommodation for family gatherings/holidays. The beach was only two minutes walk and there are lots of local amenities right on your doorstep. If you have a car there are fantastic beaches and walks within very easy reach. Thanks for having us, it was a superb place to stay.
You may have questions and hopefully they will be answered below.
YES. Your beloved pets are most welcome to enjoy a holiday at The Corner House too. All pets are considered, but most guests bring their dogs. We usually accommodate 2 dogs per stay but we may allow more, by prior arrangement. We have a safe enclosed courtyard featuring a warm outside shower, frost conditions dependent. We also have a shower in the boot room, perfect for muddy and sandy paws.
Pets are not allowed upstairs or on any of the furniture. We do have a downstairs bedroom that they may sleep in, so they don’t get upset being left downstairs. Please do not leave pets unattended in the house. Should you need to go somewhere without your furry friends, we can share contacts for lovely local dog sitters and walkers.
We have a range of bowls and provide “pet” towels and blankets. You will need to bring a pet bed and a crate if required. The cost for bringing your pet is £20 per stay, per pet.
There is no facility for charging Electric Vehicles at The Corner House, however there are EV Chargers available at the Harbour, just 2 minutes away. These are very convenient and are never usually busy.
There is also a charger close by in Burghead:
45 Sigurd St, Burghead, Elgin IV30 5GE
Various EV charging points are available in the area and can be found on line or by using an app such as ZapMap
Kindly note: EV charging is not permitted at the house for insurance purposes. If vehicles are charged from the house there is a minimum penalty of £250.

We understand that travel plans can sometimes be unpredictable. For your convenience we have self Check In via a lock box. The Corner House is a large property and takes a lot of time to prepare for your stay. Our check in is anytime after 4pm. To enable us to maintain the same high standards for our next guests, we kindly ask you to check out by 10 am.
Due to the size of the property and the time it takes to prepare it, we sadly cannot offer early check in or late check out. Our digital guide book has some great suggestions if you arrive early. You will receive this prior to your stay.
The ground floor of Corner House is all on one level. It has a downstairs king size bedroom with an ensuite shower. A large downstairs toilet and a separate shower in the boot room. All providing convenience for guests with reduced mobility, especially those who can’t climb stairs easily. Although the house isn’t strictly wheelchair accessible, we do have a family member who relies on a wheelchair, and they are able to manoeuvre around the house easily.
Although the ground floor is on one level, please be aware there is a single step into the house and the courtyard is laid to pebble.
Note for Fire Safety: For those with limited mobility it should be noted that the ground floor bedroom is classed as an inner room. Therefore, in the event of a fire, if the escape route through the pool room and out through the hallway is blocked, the escape route is through a low window. See house layout.
We do provide all bed linen and towels, including tea towels. We don’t however provide beach towels and kindly ask that you don’t take our towels to the beach. If you require beach towels, you will need to bring them with you.
A starter basket of logs, kindling, firelighters and matches will be supplied. Joel at Hopeman Stores, a few doors up the street, usually has a stock of logs and kindling. We kindly ask that you leave the bottles at the end of your visit, so they can be re-filled for the next guests to enjoy. Helping to reduce plastic waste. If you enjoy the products they can be widely purchased from online retailers.
You will need to bring with you any other personal toiletries that you require.
